Assistance & Services for Montmorency County Residents

Montmorency County shares how it spent its American Rescue Plan Act funds (ARPA)
On May 24, 2021, the County of Montmorency received its first tranche of funds from the American Rescue Plan Act in the amount of $905,927.50. On June 28, 2022, the County of Montmorency received its second tranche of funds from the American Rescue Plan Act in the amount of $905,927.50 for a total award of $1,811,855.00.
The County of Montmorency Board of Commissioners formed an ARPA committee to bring ideas and requests to the Board on behalf of the residents and citizens of the County. The Board of Commissioners have since approved the following grants and programs:
The Small Business Grant Program ($250,000.00) began on March 7, 2022 and ran through September 26, 2022 providing relief to 32 small businesses in the County. Grants were awarded in amounts between $1,300.00 and $8,000.00 for a total of $249,300.00
The Direct Pay Program ($150,000.00) began on March 7, 2022 and ran through December 31, 2023 which assisted 161 residents of Montmorency County who otherwise did not receive any additional pay for working through the worst of the Covid pandemic.  Grants were awarded in amounts up to  $500.00 per person for a total of $79,900.00
Other County entities that received ARPA funds include:  Hillman Senior Center $13,600.00 towards HVAC costs, Atlanta Senior Center $16,337.00 towards HVAC costs and Lewiston Senior Center $24,800.00 towards HVAC costs.  Tri-Township Fire Dept $50,000.00 towards SCBA equipment costs, Hillman Fire Dept $50,000.00 towards a fire truck and Albert Township Fire Dept $50,000.00 towards generator costs.  Albert Township EMS $25,000.00 towards COT/MTS systems, Tri-Township EMS $25,000.00 towards EKG monitors, Hillman Township EMS $25,000.00 towards response to public health and economic impacts of Covid 19, Brush Creek Mill $8,000.00 towards preserving the history and educate the public about the mill, Atlanta Eagles #4077 $8,000.00 towards HVAC costs and renovations, Montmorency County Emergency Services $18,500.00 towards their RAVE Mobile Safety system.
The County Clerk’s office received $3,925.00 towards document imaging costs.  The Equalization Dept received $13,013.00 towards Beacon software for GIS and mapping. The County Courthouse building received four service window replacements to include the Treasurer’s Office, Prosecutor’s Office, Probate Court and Family Division Office’s at a total cost of $24,250.00.
The County Courthouse building also received $38,536.00 for courthouse cleaning, $179,400.00 for a new HVAC system, $17,060.00 for BS&A software, $47,000.00 for upgrades to security locks, doors and latches, and $33,000.00 for computer server upgrades and IT support with a total cost of $322,186.00.
The Sheriff’s Department garage received a new garage hoist in the amount of $5,299.00 and $12,885.00 for a new HVAC system with a total cost of $18,184.00.
The Sheriff’s Department also received $21,624.00 towards body worn cameras and storage, $60,000.00 towards a new patrol car, $100,200.00 to assist with School Resource Officer costs, $6,900.00 for a new service window and $180.00 for CLIA application for a total cost of $207,088.00.
County employees received reimbursement for Covid leave at a cost of $24,567.46 and premium pay of $240,000.00 that was shared with those employees having worked during the Covid pandemic for a total of $164,567.46.
A portion of wages for the Assistant Prosecutor, Deputy Treasurer along with a Treasurer Stipend, benefits, payroll deductions and insurances equal $96,010.32  period ending December 2023.
Lastly, the ARPA funds were used to pay for Consultation and Legal expenses through December 2023 equaling a total of $5,205.00.
In conclusion, the County of Montmorency is proud to say that it has committed and shared  a total of $1,802,111.46 out of the total $1,811,855.00 period ending December 2023 from the American Rescue Plan Act fund with our community and its residents.   

 
Direct Pay Program

Montmorency County is proud to announce that since it's launch, awards totaling $79,900 has been given to its residents in recognition of their continued service to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. ​

Small Business Grant Program

Montmorency County had committed $250,000 of their American Rescue Plan Act-State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (ARPA-SLFRF) funds received from the federal government for Small Businesses. 
Since the launch of the program on March 7, 2022, Montmorency County is pleased to accounce and recognize the following businessess that were awarded thus concluding the closure of the ARPA-SLFRF fund for Small Businesses.
