Funding Opportunities

Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF)

​You may be eligible for up to $25,000 MIHAF assistance per household on your primary residence!
 Eligible uses are:
  • Delinquent mortgage, land contract, and housing expenses
    • Such as monthly payments, escrow shortages, and corporate advances
  • 2019, 2020, 2021, and current property taxes
  • Homeowners’ association fees
  • Homeowner’s insurances, hazard, flood, or mortgage insurance
  • Utilities, gas, electric, water, and sewer
  • Internet broadband services
 Apply online at Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF) as soon as February 14, 2022!

Direct Pay Program

Montmorency County has committed $150,000 of their American Rescue Plan-State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (ARPA-SLFRF) funds received from the federal government.  The program will kick off on Monday March 7, 2022.
The US Treasury Department has specified eligibility requirements. 
Eligible employees:
  • Must fall under a list of sectors and occupations
  • Have not been offered telework
  • Had regular in-person interactions with the public or physical handling of public items. 
The maximum amount allocated per application is $500 and based on weeks worked within the eligible time period.

Small Business Grant Program

Montmorency County has committed $250,000 of their American Rescue Plan Act-State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (ARPA-SLFRF) funds received from the federal government.  The program will kick off on Monday March 7, 2022.
The US Treasury Department has specified eligibility requirements, but all Montmorency County small businesses are encouraged to apply. 
The maximum grant amount has been set at $8,000.00 which (if disbursed at maximum for each applicant) would provide relief to over 31 local businesses.
Since the launch of the Small Business Grant Program on March 7th, 2022 $209,300 has been awarded. As of May 12, 2022, there are funds available for at least 4 more small business recipients. Get your application in soon. ​
